the
We are the Thalassophiles, a crew of middle school innovators from Carmel Clay Schools, united by our love for robotics. Our mission? To spark curiosity, build amazing robots, and inspire others to explore the endless possibilities of technology with us.
First LEGO League
FIRST® LEGO® League guides youth through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore, and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way. Teams of students engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.
What We Do
Explore our innovation and design on our journey to the FLL World Championship
Robot Games
We design, build, and program robots to tackle a series of missions on a timed game board, using strategy and teamwork to score as many points as possible in 2.5 minutes.
Innovation Project
We research, design, and develop innovative solutions to protect coral reefs from coral bleaching and harmful algal blooms, using creativity and teamwork to restore these vital ecosystems.
FLL World Festival
We’ll compete at the FIRST® World Championship in Houston in April 2025, joining top teams from around the world to celebrate STEM and showcase our innovation and hard work.
